Waking Life

Waking Life, a film directed by Richard Linklater, follows a young man through his lucid dream like state as he travels around the world without leaving his own head. He talks to many different people and learns about many different philosophical discussions about the appearance of reality, freewill and ultimately the meaning of life.
This is one of my favorite films and teaches me something new every time I see it. The film is packed from beginning to end with very interesting life lessons and views that really make you think about the world around you. After watching this film I can also control my dreaming much better and can almost go into a lucid state myself from time to time. This is a very cool thing to do because you can examine your own life issues in an almost subconscious way. Many of the students in our class didn’t like the movie and I think that this is because they didn’t understand it or didn’t give it a shot before giving up on it. It is a film that you must watch very carefully and truly listen to what they have to say.
